Run with the Pride 5K set for this weekend

The Run with the Pride 5K and 1-mile fun run will be held on Saturday. Each race will begin and end at Jackson street and Mulberry street on the southwest corner of the square. Free parking lots are located behind the Courthouse Annex building, 100 N. Washington St., and at the First Baptist Church of Kaufman, 302 S. Washington St. All ages are welcome. The 50th Super Bowl was played on Sunday, Feb. 7, between the Panthers and Broncos. Denver defeated the Panthers 24-10. Many may not know, but a former KHS student was in Super Bowl XII. Autry Beamon presented KHS with a golden football as part of his consideration for the Kaufman football team.

The Kaufman Lions Varsity Boys Basketball team lost their bi-district playoff game last week in Wills Point to the Brownsboro Bears by a final score of 72-38. It was the last game for three senior players in a game they would’ve rather been on the other end of.
