Kaufman man killed by wrong way driver

In the early morning hours of Feb. 12, two people died after a wrong-way crash on Highway 175 in Kaufman County.

According to WFAA.com, Crandall police confirmed on the scene an SUV traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of Highway 175 in Crandall struck a vehicle. It appears both vehicles then caught fire and both drivers died. No passengers were aboard.

Both directions of the highway were closed by police, but were reopened later that morning.

Crandall police said the wrong-way driver was spotted driving recklessly in the City of Kaufman prior to the crash.

The 21-year-old man who was killed by the wrong-way driver was identified as 21-year-old Juan Coreas, he was heading home from work at Wings in Seagoville according to CBS11. Owner of the restaurant told CBS11 he was “loved by everyone.”
