The KHS Lionettes, coached by Robin Summers, learn up to 30 routines a year and has   produced many eye-catching performances.

Summers has been teaching drill team for four years she said performing in front of a lot of people is an outstanding achievement.

“Amazing, it is wonderful experience to see their hard work pay off,” said Summers.

Even though Summers was not a part of the drill team in college, she had experience during her junior high and high school years.

Summers attended Rockwall High School and went to Stephen F. Austin University, where she took dance.

As a drill team director, one of her favorite things about teaching drill is getting to know the girls and seeing them reach their goal.

Pulling 27 girls together and making them dance is one big challenge, she said

“They can always push themselves to be better! Technique, memory, dances, and more!” Summers said No one is perfect and there is always something to work on.”

Summers expressed her feelings about the drill team by saying, “I love it!”
