The Scarecrow Festival is an annual event in Kaufman and kicks off tonight with a band on the square and continues on Saturday starting with a parade. There will be a parade, games, food, and live music.

The parade will start at 9 a.m. on Saturday at KHS and will travel up Washington Street and through the town square. Organizations from around town and the school will be in the parade.

Later in the day, the KHS show choir, Mane Attraction, will perform on the square at 2:30 p.m. The group will perform “In the Swing,” a ‘50s melody. They will also perform again later in the day.

“I’m absolutely psyched for the Scarecrow Festival,” sophomore Katelynn Messerlie said. “I think the choir will have an amazing time. I’m sure it’s going to be a blast.”
