The KHS tennis team this year has had a wonderful start to their season with several nice wins and coaches are pleased with the results overall so far.

On Sept. 9, the team faced off against Lampasas and Waco Robinson in a tournament, winning both matches 12-7. On Sept. 8, the varsity competed with Midlothian Heritage losing 7-12.

“This match was winnable,” said boys head coach Michael Lott.

Lott said the team could have performed better against Heritage.

Earlier in the season, the Lions battled their rivals Wills Point on Aug. 31. After a long day of tennis, the team came up with a win 13-6. Players were ecstatic with the victory.

Rockwall Heath was a tough match on Aug. 24. The team struggled and ended the day with a close 10-9 victory.

The team faced Frisco Lebanon three days before school on Aug. 18.  They fought hard and won the match 12-7.

The second game this season the tennis team faced Ennis, a 5A school.The team lost 3-16, but learned a lot from the loss. The tennis team’s first match this season was against Corsicana, where they started off their season strong with a 12-7 win.
