The Lions were shut out at home against the Bishop Lynch Friars on Friday 40-0. The Lions turned the ball over three times in the first quarter allowing the Friars to take advantage early in the game with a 17 point lead in the first quarter.

The Friars put up 30 points in the first half with the help of kicker Carson Garrett.

The Lions fought hard against the TAPPS reigning state champions but the friars were too much to handle.

The Lions plan to bounce back this Friday as they travel to Denton to battle the 0-3 Braswell Bengals.

The Lions traveled to Mineola two weeks ago and came away with a 42-13 victory over the Yellowjackets. The victory moves the team to 2-0 after a nice opening win over Lindale.

Kaufman started the game with three touchdowns in the first quarter, two thrown from quarterback Trey Collier to wide receiver Cecil Gasper. The third was run in by running back Michael Glick.

The Lions punched in two more touchdowns in the second half with running backs Jay Gasper and Morris. The offensive line dominated in the trenches all four quarters.

Defensively, KHS dominated the field with one interception and several sacks. Senior middle linebacker Devyn Morris leading the team in tackles.

This Friday, the Lions play against the 2016 TAPPS state champions Bishop Lynch Friars at home at 7:30 p.m.
