From the smallest screen to the widest screens, Samsung has upped their game since 2015 when they dropped the first Galaxy S6 Edge, and a year later the S7 Edge. Since then, Samsung has been looking for ways to improve its technology and bring more consumers in. Samsung has announced that they will be releasing the Galaxy S8 and S8+. This phone is expected to compete with Apple products, specifically the iPhone 7+.

Samsung’s new phone will include a massive, clear screen that curves. According to Mashable.com, the screen is expected to be taller and slightly wider than other screens. The front buttons and the fingerprint sensor will be moved to the back, but why need a fingerprint sensor if it really won’t have any use anymore? The new S8 phone will include facial recognition, so that people are able to unlock their phones just by looking at them.

A problem the S8 is expected to have, is fewer storage options. The speakers also won’t be any greater, and have become worse, according to Mashable.

Have no fear, the new Galaxy S8/S8+ will have its uses. Samsung is launching a device called the DeX. People will be able to slide their phones into a monitor and turn their phone into a desktop. It will even work with  mouse and keyboard.

Say goodbye to Siri, and hello to Bixby, Samsung’s new phone assistant. Bixby has the ability to schedule specific appointments, rather than just opening Calendar. It will only work with Samsung apps, though.

New phone color options will include: Midnight black, orchid gray, coral blue, arctic silver, and maple gold. These new Galaxy phones are going to be released on April 27th. The S8 will sell starting at $720 and the S8+ $840.
