This new semester has brought many changes with the new “H” building, construction, changes in the classrooms, and even more long walks.
New construction has begun on the old school site and because of it , students are forced students to walk all around it to go from one place to the other. The longest walk is from D-hall to A-hall (or vise versa).
Principals timed the way from A-hall to D-hall and said that it took eight minutes to get from place to place so passing periods are now eight minutes but some students still complain that it’s not enough time.It takes approximatley 0.58 miles or 1,021 steps and burn a average of 48 calories to get from A-hall to D-Hall.
Some are also looking at the positive side of things, suggesting that it’s a good exercise and that the walk will do you good. Others despise the walk. “I am on crutches and these long walks make it even worse.” said junior Deyton Brockway.
“When I can’t go to the gym and work out the walk is a good alternative work out.” said junior Adrian Rondan.
Although the walks are long when the new school is complete and ready to go the distance will be significantly decreased. Until then students will have to deal with it.
